Jackknifed 18-Wheeler Closes I-45 in Downtown Dallas

A jackknifed 18-wheeler closed a major highway and stopped traffic for miles Friday morning in downtown Dallas.

The crash was reported shortly after 8 a.m. along the southbound lanes of Interstate 45, on the overpass above Interstate 30.

All southbound lanes were closed on U.S. 75 with traffic diverted onto the service road at Bryan Street. The highway was expected to remain shut as crews cleared the wreckage and spilled fuel.

No injuries have been reported as of this writing.

It is not clear when the interstate will be reopened.
