The northbound lanes and one southbound lane of FM 2499 near the Grapevine-Flower Mound border were reopened Wednesday evening after days of being closed due to flooding.

Most of the water covering FM 2499 had receded, and officials with the Texas Department of Transportation inspected the roadway and removed debris before it was reopened to traffic at about 8 p.m.

All southbound lanes were reopened just after 4 a.m. Thursday.

FM 2499 closed about a week ago because of flood waters spilling from Grapevine Lake between Grapevine Mills Boulevard and Lakeside Parkway.

NBC 5's Ellen Bryan contributed to this report.
